What do all these current and former counselors and interns have in common? They were all part of our youth speakers teams when they were in TD! They can tell you what an incredibly powerful and shaping process it is. There’s nothing we do at TD that is as life-changing and transforming as “Speakers,” as it is affectionately called.
If any of you 10th – 12th graders are curious or interested to learn more, we will have a mandatory information meeting THIS Sunday from 1 p.m. – 2:15 p.m. in the basement of the Main Campus. During this meeting, we will answer any and all questions regarding the 2018 CA So. Baptist Youth Speakers Tournament (YST).
You don’t have to know for sure if you are going to do “Speakers” or not this year to come to the meeting. In fact, the meeting is being held to help you decide one way or another. And don’t worry, there will be no pressure to join.
My son, Daniel, knows my heart. He knows I love my family. And he knows my mind is always thinking of how to edify those under my spiritual care. So, for Father’s Day, he produced a 12 minute multi-generational podcast for me that kills 3 birds with one stone – 1) his introduction honors me (while leaving me laughing); 2) the message honors my father, K.C., who raised and led me to my Eternal Father; and 3) through this podcast, you will come to understand who I am and why I am the way I am better (you’ll learn a lot about me that you didn’t know); which will help us both, as I attempt to push you, challenge you, lead you, cheer for you, support you, teach you, provide for you, protect you, inspire you, equip you … to love, honor, cherish, and live for your Eternal Father in a fuller and more meaningful way.
So, click on the icon above and enjoy! I hope it will be an encouragement to you. Thanks, Daniel! – Arthur
At first, I smiled. Then, I wondered if it was alright to add that extra bit in there. What do you think?
At any rate, it got me to think. And that’s what we’re going to do in TD this Friday – think! We’re not only going to think, however. We’re going to feel. We’re going to experience. Through music, video, poetry, examining, and teaching, we’re going to explore how Psalm 139:13-18 anchors life.
Then we’re going to consider how to make this actionable. Then … it’s up to you to take action with the life God designed for you! See you at TD! – Arthur
