TD Fri. – Guess Who’s Speaking???

Daniel with Ravi

Daniel Zacharias with Ravi Zacharias

No, it’s not Ravi ūüė¶

But we are excited to invite you to come to TD this Friday to hear his namesake! Did you know that Daniel’s middle name is Zacharias, named after Ravi?

Come as we welcome Daniel to come teach for the first time at a Friday TD meeting, as he teaches from Rom. 12:3-5, with a message titled, “Self-Perception and Communal Flourishing.”

Daniel is a gifted thinker, communicator, and serious Christ-follower who will take the baton and lead us as we continue our year’s theme, Renew: Transforming Our Life in Christ.

To get a taste of Daniel’s speaking, here’s the powerful message he gave at this year’s TD Banquet.¬† It’s one of the best messages I’ve heard this year:

“The Fact and the Fool’s Gold”

In preparation for our time on Friday, please think upon Rom. 12:3-5.  We should have verses 1-5 memorized by the end of this month.  Here it is:

1Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

2And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

3For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.

4For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function,

5so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.

See you Friday!

TD SGOD on Friday – 6:30 p.m.!

untitled

Hey TD!

This Friday is our first SGOD (small group outing and discussion) of the year! ¬†We’ll be meeting from 6:30 – 10 p.m. Your small group leaders will be contacting you via email with details of where to meet, what to bring, etc., so CHECK YOUR EMAIL!

FAQ

Q: How do I prepare for this Friday’s discussion?

A: Glad you asked! Here we go:

  1. Listen to last week’s opening message of our year’s theme, “Rebuild: Re-Habituating Our Life in Christ.” ¬†Unfortunately, the sound quality isn’t great (sorry!), and you can hear the mic rubbing against Arthur’s pants sometimes (more in the beginning), but it is listen-able (though slightly annoying) and the content of the message is very important to consider as we embark on our new theme together. ¬†The sound will be fixed next time.
  2. Here’s the link to the message:¬†“Self Assessment in Light of Our First Love” (Rev. 2:4-5)¬†(message) – Arthur
  3. Review and answer the small group discussion questions before SGOD and bring your answers with you on Friday.  Just do as much as you can!
  4. Here’s the link to the discussion questions: “Self Assessment in Light of Our First Love” (Rev:2:4-5) (small group questions)

Q: How do I prepare for the outing?

A: Check with your small group leader for specific details … but come as you are, but come ready to have a good time, to appreciate and support others in your small group, and to receive support.

Q: What if I haven’t been contacted or don’t know which small group I’m in?

A: Contact one of the TD leaders via email, text, fb, etc. -> or leave a comment below -> or go to the TD web site and send us a message.

Hey TD!

Join us for the year’s opening message tomorrow as we unveil our year’s theme!¬† But I’ll give you a hint.¬† If your Christian experience has been somewhat like trying to get a hold of a piece of soap in a bath –¬†where one second you’ve got it, and then it slips from your grasp – this is going to be an important year at TD for you, beginning tomorrow night.

We’ll also be sharing about TD’s ministry teams that you can get involved with to help shape and influence TD this year.

We look forward to starting the year off strong together.  See you all tomorrow!
