TD Sat. – SOS Saturday!!!

“For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh but through love serve one another.” – Gal. 5:13

Hey TD!

This Saturday morning, we’ll have a glorious opportunity to visit the elderly in Jesus’ Name at the Care Center! What a chance to “visit widows … in their distress” as commanded in James 1:27, for this is “[T]rue religion that is pleasing in the sight of our Father”.

We’ll meet at the Hsiehs’ at 9:30 a.m. and will return by noon.  You are welcome to stay for lunch afterwards, if you’d like.  Just let your TD sg leaders know you’ll be coming!

Blessed Easter Weekend! – Arthur

Come to SOS Saturday!

“For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh but through love serve one another.” – Gal. 5:13

Hey TD!

We have another wonderful opportunity to serve our elders and to be part of what’s right in society.  It’s not only a blessing to serve the widows and elderly, but it’s our duty as His hands and feet to do so in His Name.

Please join us at 9:30 a.m. at my home.  We’ll return by noon.  IF you want to stay for lunch, you’re welcome to as well!  See you then! – Arthur

Come Celebrate Gwen’s 98th at SOS Saturday!

Hey TD!

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! One of the best ways to give thanks is to give back.  Jesus calls His own dear children to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. Well, when I or one of my family members has a birthday, we celebrate!

TD’s dear friend at the care center, Gwen, is celebrating her 98th birthday tomorrow.  She is a gem – so with it, so polite, so thoughtful (crocheting little Hannah a vest), and so classy (as Angela puts it). Come join us as we try to surprise her and bless her on her big day! And if you want to bring her a little something, feel free!

Meet at my home at 9:30 a.m. as usual.  See you there! – Arthur

Hey TD, it’s time for another edition of Serve Our Society Saturday!  This Saturday, we will once again visit our friends at the So. Pasadena Care Center.  Our visits mean so much to them that we cannot NOT go!  They really look forward to our visits.

Meet at the Hsiehs’ at 9:30 a.m.  and get picked up by noon. There will be no lunch this week due to a meeting.

Make the time to do what’s good and right, TD, and you know God will bless you as you do!

TD Sat. – Come to SOS SUPER Saturday!

Hey TD!

We will not only have SOS Saturday this weekend, but we’re having an SOS SUPER Saturday!  What’s a SUPER Saturday?  It’s a double-header, two opportunities to keep cultivating the all-important Downward component of our Christian lives!

Care Center Ministry – 10 a.m. – noon.  Meet at my home at 9:30 a.m.

Come minister to the elderly at the So. Pasadena Care Center.  They are gaining lots of momentum ever since they got re-certified and converted back to making the elderly their primary focus of care.  TD has been ministering here since 1989.  Our last two visits were very special.

These are folks who have been largely forgotten and who need to be valued and reminded that they are still loved by God and still have much worth.

“You shall rise up before the grayheaded and honor the aged, and you shall revere your God; I am the LORD.” Leviticus 19:32

Orphanage Ministry – 1 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.  Meet at my home at 12:30 p.m.

On the other spectrum are children who also have no one to really call their own.  They don’t have parents!  What would you do if you grew up without parents?

These are darling kids who face a very uncertain future and need to know they are valued.  God has a heart for them, part of which they can experience by being with us.

“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.” James 1:27

True Downward service is so crucial and essential to a true Christian life, so please take advantage of the opportunities to fulfill His calling for us through our SOS Saturdays.
Let your small group leaders know if you can make either ministry or both this Saturday! – Arthur
