Prep for TD Fri. – “Rehabituating Our Time With God” (small groups)

Sandra will do anything to help young people grow closer to God! ¬†You gotta love her ūüôā

Hey TD!

As you can see, we’re serious about rebuilding your lives in Christ! ¬†Last week, we focused on Upward engagement with God, working on our personal time with Him. ¬†This is crucial and foundational to rebuilding a solid, worshipful, fruitful Christian life.

Join us this Friday as we spend time in small groups (preceded by large group), working on improving our personal time with God.

Please review last week’s sharing to help ingrain the proper mindset and heart:

Last Friday TD Meeting of the Year

Hey TD!

Our year is coming to a close! This Friday is our last regular TD meeting. ¬†Not only will Robert lead us in wrapping up our year’s theme (Reboot: Seeing God as God Again), but some of our seniors will also be sharing their testimonies! ¬†So, make sure you come out and show your support!

In the meanwhile, work hard to finish memorizing Psalm 139 (NASB)! ¬†Once again, here’s Sandra’s special recitation of it (with lots of footage of her dog, Joy):

Integrity Needed

Hey TD,

Sandra and I saw this sign when waiting at the tire store yesterday. ¬†We both looked at each other and said, “That’s good.” and took a picture of it.

If the world knows enough to live by integrity, ought not His children? The world rightly expects that of Christians, but God all the more.

Counselors, interns, TD’ers, integrity counts! ¬†Here are important Scripture verses for us to let the Holy Spirit impress upon our lives and for us to resolve to live by:

Proverbs 10:9 ESV

Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out.

Proverbs 28:6 ESV

Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than a rich man who is crooked in his ways.

Proverbs 20:7 ESV

The righteous who walks in his integrity‚ÄĒ blessed are his children after him!

Proverbs 12:22 ESV

Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who act faithfully are his delight.

Luke 16:10 ESV

One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.

Philippians 4:8 ESV

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

James 1:22-25 ESV

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.

TD, Watch This! Debuting …

Hey TD!

On Mother’s Day, I would like to honor TD’s mom … Sandra … by allowing her to bless you in this video devotional debut!

In this wonderful video (made by her son, Randall), you will hear one of her secrets to living the powerful walk with God that she lives. ¬†You’ll hear how that power is culled and simmered daily. ¬†Not only will you hear how she strengthens her walk, you’ll see how she does it. In fact, you’ll walk with her … and Joy! :); and you’ll do it to Psalm 139 (one of ¬†the 17 or so chapters of Scripture she recites everyday), set to Matt Redman’s “Never Once.”

May it encourage you in your walk with God. Enjoy! ¬†Happy Mother’s Day, Sandra!

TD Friday – “A Whole New World” – mp3 and study

“A Whole New World” (mp3) – Arthur

“A Whole New World” (sg study)

Hey TD!

As we embark on our year’s theme, “Reboot: Seeing God as God Again (Ps. 139),” and behold the beauty of God in Psalm 139, it’s vital for us to rightly assess our culture and THE culture, our world and THE world we live in; to clear the brush, as it were. ¬†How and where is culture influencing us, and how and where are we influencing culture? ¬†And in what ways is this mutual influence happening? ¬†Are there small and/or large adjustments to be made?

We don’t want to just add God’s beautiful and transforming Word on top of our cluttered, distracted lives, leaving us thinking that we’ve done something holy and spiritual by including God in our lives. ¬†God’s Word was NEVER meant for that. ¬†Listen to 2 Timothy 3:16-17:

“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

Through the work of the Holy Spirit, God’s Word is meant to TRANSFORM our lives from the inside out! ¬†It isn’t meant just to garnish or accent our lives, giving us a little “spirituality” or spiritual flavor. ¬†The truth is, you are either walking forward or backwards. ¬†There is no neutral ground with Jesus:

“Anyone who isn’t with me opposes me, and anyone who isn’t working with me is actually working against me”¬†Matt. 12:30 (NLT)

Prepping for TD small groups on Friday

  • Review Arthur’s message above, “A Whole New World” (mp3) (it’s 1:43 mins, so you may want to split it up)
  • Review and consider the pre-small group study thoughts (above)

The better your review, the better our small groups!

See you Friday!

Offerings – The River of Life – Arthur

Hey TD!

Here’s an offering I gave to the Lord from Revelations 22, set to the music of “The Chronicles of Narnia,” during Offerings 2. ¬†What offering will you give? ¬†Take a risk and go for it! ¬†You’re among family, you’ll be blessed, we’ll be blessed, and most importantly … God will be blessed! – Arthur
