” We unconsciously learn to love rival kingdoms because we don’t realize we are participating in rival liturgies.” – James K.A. Smith

Hey TD!

This Friday will be our only Bible study in April. I sure hope you can make it out as Sandra leads us into a look into our subconscious lives; the place it is said to hold the power over our lives.

Come ready to take a look inside, and to consider why it is you do what you day and act the way you act.   You may be surprised.  In the end, we want to learn how God can hold not only our conscious convictions and beliefs, but our everyday lives as well.

It’s going to be an insightful time together. – Arthur

(“Recalibrating Our Hearts” Pt. 1 “live-type” notes. Thanks Melody T.!)

Hey TD!

It was great to see the sea of green last Friday, with green snacks and Sandra’s green guacamole 🙂  It was also a great time for what Luther called “table talk” discussion and learning.

This Friday, we will continue to examine the x-rays of our hearts, where we will consider just how it is that we got here.  But don’t worry, we won’t stop there! We will also learn how to recalibrate our hearts toward the right!  Make plans to join us as we continue our “table talk” learning format!

Please review the mp3 of last week’s teaching prior to coming this Friday.  It will be very helpful to connect the dots (see notes above):

Sandra will do anything to help young people grow closer to God!  You gotta love her 🙂

Hey TD!

As you can see, we’re serious about rebuilding your lives in Christ!  Last week, we focused on Upward engagement with God, working on our personal time with Him.  This is crucial and foundational to rebuilding a solid, worshipful, fruitful Christian life.

Join us this Friday as we spend time in small groups (preceded by large group), working on improving our personal time with God.

Please review last week’s sharing to help ingrain the proper mindset and heart:

Hey TD!

How’s your upward engagement with God?  If it’s in need of improvement, we encourage you come to TD this Friday, as we will have a time that can be potentially impactful to the quality of your upward engagement with God going forward.

To get the most out of our time together, it’s really important for you to be really solid on what’s been taught and covered so far – not solid in the sense of, “O, yeah, I recognize that; I’ve heard that before,” but more so in the sense that it is becoming part of the way you think and live your life each day.  That’s the only way you’ll experience the slow but sure transformation you’re looking for.

So, please keep consistently reviewing and implementing, and you’ll begin to see the change in your life.

Hey TD!

The long-awaited unveiling of Voiceless For the Voiceless (V4V) is nearly upon us!  Our crash course in all things V4V is coming this Friday. We will cast the vision, you will receive your V4V kit, and will learn everything you need to know in order to give TD the best chance at changing lives for good, including your own.  Make plans to join us!

In addition, we will be in small groups to follow-up on last week’s message,”The Power of Habit.”  It’s a key message that will need to be understood and implemented well if you are going to experience a successful rebuild of your life in Christ.

Hey TD!

As I shared in the last post,

I’d like to invite you to begin re-establishing your spiritual habits and the way you “do TD.”

That begins with a change of your habits, which is what we’ll be studying from Scripture at TD on Friday as I speak on “The Power of Habit.”

One way you can change your TD experience is to come to TD more prepared than you are used to by really mastering the material being taught. Studies prove that each time we listen to something, we learn more from it that we didn’t learn the last time we listened to it.  That’s certainly true in my life.

That said, here’s part 2 of “On Love and Desire” with part 1 below it for your convenience. Please do your best to review them before coming to TD on Friday! – Arthur

Opening TD of 2017 – Rebuilding and Reviewing

Hey TD!

This Friday will be our opening meeting of 2017! We’ll want to get out of the gates strong and solidify the rebuild of our Christian lives.  Like any building that needs to be done, securing a firm foundation is ESSENTIAL.

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.  The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.” Matt. 7:24-25

Please listen today to the review above of the October and November messages that I gave before my December message, “On Love and Desire.” We all need to collectively work at mastering the material.  Not only will it strengthen you individually, but it will strengthen TD as a whole.  What each one of us does individually affects everyone else, positively or negatively.  Let’s go, TD! – Arthur

3 R’s – Rebuild (Fri.), Ravi, Reminder

ravi-blackberry

Hey TD!

My family and I had an incredible time in Colorado Springs last weekend with the world’s leading Christian apologist, Ravi Zacharias, and the rest of his incredible team.  RZIM’s team of evangelists/apologists is unparalleled in the world today in their range and scope of ministry.  The more you familiarize yourself with their ministry, the sharper and more effective you’ll be … and … the more compassionate and sensitive you’ll be.  Go visit www.rzim.org and spend lots of time there!

This picture is for all you Blackberry haters who always give me a hard time for using a Blackberry!  As you can see, Ravi and I both use the same Blackberry 🙂 and have texted each other jokingly because both of us get smirked at for using it.  But we both still prefer their physical keyboard for writing!  So, as you can see, my friends, I’m in good company! Long live the Blackberry!

Anyway, this Friday, we’ll continue delving deeper into our year’s theme, Rebuild: Rehabituating Our Life in Christ.  I will lead us in a key study that will get right to the core of our lives in Christ.  This will be an essential message for those of you needing to rebuild your lives in Christ.  The message is entitled, “Rebuilding Our Infrastructure,” and I’m looking forward to sharing it with you!

And a quick reminder: Don’t forget the TD Pre-Party at 7:15 p.m.!

See you Friday! – Arthur

TD SGOD on Friday – 6:30 p.m.!

untitled

Hey TD!

This Friday is our first SGOD (small group outing and discussion) of the year!  We’ll be meeting from 6:30 – 10 p.m. Your small group leaders will be contacting you via email with details of where to meet, what to bring, etc., so CHECK YOUR EMAIL!

FAQ

Q: How do I prepare for this Friday’s discussion?

A: Glad you asked! Here we go:

  1. Listen to last week’s opening message of our year’s theme, “Rebuild: Re-Habituating Our Life in Christ.”  Unfortunately, the sound quality isn’t great (sorry!), and you can hear the mic rubbing against Arthur’s pants sometimes (more in the beginning), but it is listen-able (though slightly annoying) and the content of the message is very important to consider as we embark on our new theme together.  The sound will be fixed next time.
  2. Here’s the link to the message: “Self Assessment in Light of Our First Love” (Rev. 2:4-5) (message) – Arthur
  3. Review and answer the small group discussion questions before SGOD and bring your answers with you on Friday.  Just do as much as you can!
  4. Here’s the link to the discussion questions: “Self Assessment in Light of Our First Love” (Rev:2:4-5) (small group questions)

Q: How do I prepare for the outing?

A: Check with your small group leader for specific details … but come as you are, but come ready to have a good time, to appreciate and support others in your small group, and to receive support.

Q: What if I haven’t been contacted or don’t know which small group I’m in?

A: Contact one of the TD leaders via email, text, fb, etc. -> or leave a comment below -> or go to the TD web site and send us a message.
