Sandra will do anything to help young people grow closer to God!  You gotta love her 🙂

Hey TD!

As you can see, we’re serious about rebuilding your lives in Christ!  Last week, we focused on Upward engagement with God, working on our personal time with Him.  This is crucial and foundational to rebuilding a solid, worshipful, fruitful Christian life.

Join us this Friday as we spend time in small groups (preceded by large group), working on improving our personal time with God.

Please review last week’s sharing to help ingrain the proper mindset and heart:

TD Fri. – Offerings 5 – “SEE”!!!!!

[Kylie and crew doing body worship at Offerings 4 ot Psalm 139 (Wonderfully Made)]

Hey TD!

Have you ever read or passed by something a million times, when suddenly – you actually SEE it for the first time?  This is the experience of every child who has been adopted into the family of God and been given the Spirit of God – for “What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand [or SEE] what God has freely given us.” (1Cor 2:12)

This Friday’s Offerings 5 is an opportunity for us to spend time as a family – to love on, delight in, celebrate and worship with our Heavenly Father – by expressing and exploring the various capabilities He has given us to create and reflect who He is.  Whether in the form of a simple letter, a poem, a painting, a song, a dance, a recitation, or a reflection – we can share with each other what God has been teaching us to SEE, as we learn to SEE more truly ourselves, each other, and HIM.

If you are interested in bringing a smile to your Father’s face 🙂 and giving an offering – even if you don’t know what it is yet – please contact your small group leader TODAY!

“Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known.  But we know that when [Jesus] appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall SEE Him as He is.” 1 John 3:2

Thanks! – Rebecca

Here’s TD’s schedule for the rest of the month:

9/16 – Offerings 5

Come participate and enjoy our 5th Offerings Night with art, poetry, music, and more as we choose to SEE God as He is!

9/24 (Sat.) – ReThink Apologetics Student Conference (Costa Mesa)

It’s our annual trip to Stand to Reason’s student conference, designed to help you think through issues clearly and biblically, and to help you learn how to articulate those thoughts to your friends.  As STR’s motto says, this is clear thinking Christianity.

Cost: $20 (it costs $45, but we will cover $25 if you sign up by 9/18) – sign up with a TD leader today!

Last Friday TD Meeting of the Year

Hey TD!

Our year is coming to a close! This Friday is our last regular TD meeting.  Not only will Robert lead us in wrapping up our year’s theme (Reboot: Seeing God as God Again), but some of our seniors will also be sharing their testimonies!  So, make sure you come out and show your support!

In the meanwhile, work hard to finish memorizing Psalm 139 (NASB)!  Once again, here’s Sandra’s special recitation of it (with lots of footage of her dog, Joy):

TD Fri. – SG Study – “Hatred” Ps. 139:19-22

Hey TD!

This Friday will be our final small group discussion meeting of the year! Let’s make it a good one!

Here are the discussion questions, as well as the mp3 to review prior to our meeting:

“Hatred” Psalm 139:19-22 mp3 (Eunice)

“Hatred” Psalm 139:19-22 (small group study)

We should be working on having verses 1 – 22 memorized by the end of the month:

Psalm 139:1-22

O Lord, You have searched me and known me.
You know [a]when I sit down and [b]when I rise up;
You understand my thought from afar.
You [c]scrutinize my [d]path and my lying down,
And are intimately acquainted with all my ways.
[e]Even before there is a word on my tongue,
Behold, O Lord, You know it all.
You have enclosed me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is too high, I cannot attain to it.

Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in [f]Sheol, behold, You are there.
If I take the wings of the dawn,
If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea,
10 Even there Your hand will lead me,
And Your right hand will lay hold of me.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will [g]overwhelm me,
And the light around me will be night,”
12 Even the darkness is not dark [h]to You,
And the night is as bright as the day.
Darkness and light are alike to You.

13 For You formed my [i]inward parts;
You wove me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will give thanks to You, for [j]I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Wonderful are Your works,
And my soul knows it very well.
15 My [k]frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth;
16 Your eyes have seen my unformed substance;
And in Your book were all written
The days that were ordained for me,
When as yet there was not one of them.

17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand.
When I awake, I am still with You.

19 O that You would slay the wicked, O God;
Depart from me, therefore, men of bloodshed.
20 For they speak [l]against You wickedly,
And Your enemies [m]take Your name in vain.
21 Do I not hate those who hate You, O Lord?
And do I not loathe those who rise up against You?
22 I hate them with the utmost hatred;
They have become my enemies.

TD, Watch This! Debuting …

Hey TD!

On Mother’s Day, I would like to honor TD’s mom … Sandra … by allowing her to bless you in this video devotional debut!

In this wonderful video (made by her son, Randall), you will hear one of her secrets to living the powerful walk with God that she lives.  You’ll hear how that power is culled and simmered daily.  Not only will you hear how she strengthens her walk, you’ll see how she does it. In fact, you’ll walk with her … and Joy! :); and you’ll do it to Psalm 139 (one of  the 17 or so chapters of Scripture she recites everyday), set to Matt Redman’s “Never Once.”

May it encourage you in your walk with God. Enjoy!  Happy Mother’s Day, Sandra!

TD Fri. – “Hatred”

Hatred

Hey TD!

This Friday, we will be tackling the most challenging, awkward, disturbing, puzzling portion of Psalm 139 – verses 19 – 22:

19 O that You would slay the wicked, O God;
Depart from me, therefore, men of bloodshed.
20 For they speak [l]against You wickedly,
And Your enemies [m]take Your name in vain.
21 Do I not hate those who hate You, O Lord?
And do I not loathe those who rise up against You?
22 I hate them with the utmost hatred;
They have become my enemies.

Why are these thoughts and sentiments in our beloved and beautiful Psalm 139? What is up with these verses?

Come as our one and only Eunice will bring a unique perspective and angle on this topic and try to navigate us through the minefield!

In the meanwhile, please be memorizing!.  Here’s where you should be:
