Hey TD!

There’s something special about the arts. The arts are often able to communicate and resonate with us with a depth propositions cannot.

This Saturday night, Maranatha High School’s Performing Arts Department will be putting on “Evening of Christmas: Joy” at the world-renowned Ambassador Auditorium on Marantha’s campus in Pasadena.  Tickets through TD are $5 ($10 to the public).

Let your small group leader know by Thursday night whether you are able to make it or not! Hope to see you there!

Here’s what’s in store:

Join us for a festive evening of music and dance and discover the joy of the season at “Evening of Christmas”!

We use the word “joy” so much during this holiday season. We sing “Joy to the World,” and “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee.” We bring tidings of “comfort and joy.” But the joy of the Christmas story is contained in the story of a young couple, separated from home and family and forced to deliver their first child in a stable. That is the difference between joy and happiness. Joy isn’t based on circumstance as much as perspective.

Our presentation of “Evening of Christmas” this year explores the true meaning of that word joy through music and dance. Come join us as we usher in the Christmas season with performances by Mixed Ensemble, Maranatha Orchestra, and Dance Company. It will be two evenings filled with the heart and soul of the true “joy” of the season. “Evening of Christmas” takes place on Friday and Saturday, December 7 and 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the Ambassador Auditorium.

Join TD for Performing Arts Show this Sat., 4/8 – RSVP!

Hey TD!

Last year, after going to Maranatha HS’s Performing Arts Chapel, I texted TD’s leaders suggesting we cancel our regular TD meeting to go see “Beauty in Brokenness.”  They agreed to give it a try.  TD went and was blessed, moved, and touched by the theme, the beauty, and artistry of fellow high schoolers really putting out to the glory of God.

Well, Sandra and I went to the Performing Arts Chapel again today, and, once again, my heart was moved.  We both had tears in our eyes.  So, once again, I texted the leaders and asked them if they’d like to go again with TD.  They agreed.  What’s great is that this year, there is a Saturday night performance for us to go to!

So, we’d like to invite you to join us at the world-renowned Ambassador Auditorium on the Maranatha campus for an evening of revisiting the stories that have touched us; but this time through the creative arts.

“Join the MHS Performing Arts Department this Spring as we bring the wonder and joy of childhood stories to the Ambassador stage. Stories come in many forms and provide a unique connection to memories, personal/spiritual growth, and remind us what it looks like to live without fear and doubt. With the creative collaboration of dance, choir, and orchestra, this show will take you on a journey that you won’t want to miss!”

Please let your small group leader know … NOW … if you can make it! I will be purchasing group tickets on Friday.

If you can meet at Maranatha at 6:30 p.m., that would be great since car space is limited.  But if you need a ride, we’ll try to find you one! – Arthur

TD CHANGE on Friday!!! Not at Church!

Hey Everyone,

We decided on a last minute change to TD tomorrow.  Instead of meeting for the small group study at church, we will be going to Maranatha High School and watching the Performing Arts Showcase, “Beauty in Brokenness” at the world-renowned Ambassador Auditorium!

“Beauty in Brokenness”:

“Join the Performing Arts Department as we take you through the struggling journey of brokenness in the world, in culture, and in ourselves. This show uses the elements of dance, choir, and orchestra to bring awareness into places of need. We are blessed to serve a God who brings hope into dark spaces and is able to create beauty out of our brokenness. We hope you are able to join us for this one-night-only event!”

The show starts at 7 p.m., so if you can get a ride to Maranatha and meet at 6:45 p.m., that would be much appreciated, as our car space is limited.  If you need a ride, however, please let your small group leaders know ASAP and we’ll get you one!

Please contact your small group leaders NOW to let them know if you can make it!
