Christmas at the Care Centers!

Hey TD!
In preparation for our Voiceless for the Voiceless (V4V) campaign to provide significant help and ministry to orphaned children with disabilities in Show Hope’s care centers in China, I want to share with you an email TD received today that made me smile!  Each picture tells a story … His story.  Thanks for your faithful support in sponsoring these children each month.  – Arthur
Here’s the email:
Thank you for joining us as a Show Hope Care Center sponsor! You are helping to provide life-giving care to children like Aurora, Suzy, and Dondeena.

This time of year, our Care Centers in China are full of so much Christmas cheer! We started the season off with caroling, and the kids loved all the singing, dancing, and guitar playing! The children at Maria’s Big House of Hope have also enjoyed making reindeer and Christmas tree crafts, and the kids in Zhengzhou have enjoyed dressing up in Santa hats and taking festive photos as they play with tinsel.

We are so grateful for your generosity over this past year, and for all of the precious children who received such amazing care as a result. The impact you have on their lives is immense, and we cannot thank you enough for your faithful support. May God’s richest blessings rest on you today and always.

Merry Christmas!

TD – Help With Supplies For Orphans

MiniMBHOHHey TD!

On Show Hope’s web site, there is a good, clear article entitled, “What Does The Bible Have to Say About Orphan Care?”  (click to check it out).  It lists 4 biblical mandates: defend, give, visit, and help.  These are areas TD will be growing in engaging in over time (but beginning immediately).  But there are immediate opportunities.

As you know, my family will be traveling with Show Hope to China, and will be visiting most of their care centers, including Maria’s Big House of Hope.  I would like to ask you TD’ers to continue to help with the giving portion of the mandate by getting some supplies for us to bring over.  But you’ll need to act quickly.  Thanks in advance! (also, please give your monthly sponsorship money to your small group intern!) – Arthur

“He who gives to the poor will never want, but he who shuts his eyes will have many curses.” — Proverbs 28:27

“Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.” — James 1:27

Here’s what we need you to bring to TD this Friday:

1. Summer sandals for boys and girls – new or gently used – size 3 to size 9 (for 1-4 year olds)

2. Young children’s toothpaste that can be swallowed – “flouride-free toothpaste” (can use 50 or more of these tubes so great need)

6. Johnson & Johnson Baby Lotion – pump bottles preferred if available

7. Socks for infants and preschool children – size 12 months to size 3T

TD Showing Hope to Orphans

Hey TD!

During Offerings 4, we showed some videos in an effort to continue to get us more familiar with the ministry of Show Hope and the movement to care for orphans (particularly those with disabilities) in Jesus’ Name, as TD begins its journey towards doing its part to live out true Christianity by heeding James 1:27’s call to care for orphans.

So committed is my family to do our part that my family plans to go to China this summer with Show Hope to visit the Kingdom work being done there at the care centers, especially Maria’s Big House of Hope.  We plan to get an “on the ground” look and feel of the work there, personally engaging with the orphans, staff, and ministry.  We believe this will give us a deeper look into how we can possibly further our impact (and the impact of TD and MBCLA) in the years to come.

If you haven’t given your small group leaders your pledge for your small group to sponsor orphans, please do so this week!

(Several people have asked how the time with Steven Curtis Chapman was at my home.  Above is a short but great video that my son, Randall, put together of that magical night with the Chapmans and the leaders of Show Hope)

Please take the time to watch these great videos again (or for the first time), so you can get more familiar with the work we at TD will be joining in via sponsorship and more :
