TD Fri. – Engaging With a “Scary” God – Bible Study on 1 Chronicles 13

***Note that TD has moved to the church library across the hall during construction***

Hey TD!

In the final Bible study of the 2018 – 2019 year, Daniel will once again lead us in an interactive, open-ended large group study, similar to last month’s study in Luke 14.  This time, we will work through 1 Chronicles 13 together.

Some say that we shouldn’t fear God, that it’s not healthy nor right.  Others say we should absolutely fear God, and quote the verse, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” Should we be more afraid of God than we are today? Or should we be less afraid than we are?  The answer is probably most rightly answered, it depends …

This month, we will discuss the character and nature of God that prompted the Bible to record, “David was afraid of God that day …” Is there actually a right and wrong way to engage with God? Is He to be more feared or loved? Is there an Old-Testament God and a New Testament God? Has His nature changed over the ages?

We encourage you to read through 1 Chronicles 13 (and even the chapters surrounding it), make notes, and prepare to engage with God, alongside your fellow TD’ers.  I’m sure God has something special in store for us.

See you at TD! – Arthur

TD Fri. – “Engaging in Conversations That Count”

Image result for conversations that count

Hey TD!

As we continue our theme, Engage: Living Life in HD, we want to help you engage in “high definition,” high quality conversations with those around you.  Having good conversations is key to developing quality relationships, as well as to be effective witnesses for Christ.

This Friday, we will explore some key components of engaging in meaningful “conversations that count.”  We will also look at some of Jesus’ conversations to see how He engaged with others.

See you on Friday!

“How We Are Supposed to Live” mp3 and Table of Contents

Hey TD!

Friday, we heard how God wants us to live and we were challenged to “get on the court and take the shot.”  Building on last month’s foundational study of what love is, this month, we take the next step and look at what He wants us to do with His love.  Later in the month, we’ll attempt to live it out.

Before we do, it’s important that you know well “How We Are Supposed to Live.”  We’ll work through God’s commands for us in our small groups this Friday.  If you weren’t at TD last Friday, or need to review the message, listen and take notes on the message below before we meet this Friday.

Hey TD!

In the Fall, we began our year-long theme, Engage: Living Life in HD, by looking at the Upward prong of life and how to engage with God.

In January, we began to explore the Outward aspect of our life and calling by going to the root of any God-ordained interaction with people – love.  Before meaningfully engaging with anyone, we need to better understand what love is and how it grounds us and calls us. (See below for the mp3 message and Table of Contents to review)

This would be a great Friday to invite your friends!

This Friday, with understanding true love as our anchor and catapult, we will look at how we are supposed to live our lives, according to the God who designed and created us.

Hey TD!

We’ve got a great Friday planned at TD as we continue our theme, “Engage: Living Life in HD”!

First, we’re going to engage in a unique way, as we paint portraits of one another.  Not an artist? No worries, neither am I! This art project is imbecile proof. If you know how to trace, you’re good.  More than painting cool portraits, it will be a very neat time of engagement.

Second, we’re going to continue our forum on “Can You Really Know God Personally?” Last week, we had an organic, unscripted, and intimate time of exploring how some of our leaders engage with God through the Scriptures.  This week, we’ll get a raw look at how people engage with God through prayer.

Perhaps you feel like nothing happens when you pray; or you feel like you’re just talking to yourself.  You may be asking if you’re doing it right, or whether God is actually actively listening, etc.  You try to do what you’re supposed to when you pray, but you don’t really feel any different. Through our dialogue, we hope to let the Spirit lead us and minister to us in the way He wants to.

If you’re in need of engaging with God in a deeper, more personal way, you’ll want to be at TD this Friday! – Arthur
