The Cosmic Cube: Life Outside the Box – the South Side

Hey TD, I hope you have been keeping up with The Cosmic Battle series of essays.  They have been a rich source of perspective and thought to help us in our call to “fight the good fight.”  They have reminded us of the reality that “… our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (Eph. 6:12)

Today, we kick off our new series, The Cosmic Cube, which will challenge us to think, live, and battle outside the naturalistic box that we are being suckered to live in each day.

Nathaniel will get us started, giving us chilling and uncomfortable insight into our Enemy’s heart.  It’s long, but it’s incredible!  Please read and be sharpened for the battle! Comments welcomed.  – Arthur

Who would have known that something as fragile as a web could reach out so far and entangle so many?  Who could have guessed that lies could drill a hole so deep, the bottom was neither in sight nor in any stretch of the finite imagination.  The web of lies is infinite, working its way into every aspect of human life and thought.  Invisibly.  The web of lies is powerful, blinding its captives and dragging them into the bottomless pit.  Eternally.

“It amuses me,” my demon tour guide, Erebus, chuckled, “that the stupid humans have not the slightest inclination of who we are.  How could they even begin to see the way we master their lives when they regard themselves as progressive, open-minded, and intelligent.  Ha! They will always be naive children, children of lies, the unsuspecting pupils of the master and teacher, the Father of Lies.”

I shuttered at the sight of him.  His brazen eyes were ablaze with cruelty, shining like one who had not only seen the eternal fire, but set eyes on its prisoners and exulted in their agony.  The fire in his eyes grew hotter and the strength of his piercing words increased as we descended the web together. The Cosmic Battle: The Seed

Every effect has a cause, and every thought or action has a root.  Nothing comes from nothing.  The old computer programmers had a term, GIGO – garbage in, garbage out.  But what is also true is … goodness in, goodness out.  Good roots produce goot fruit.  They can’t help it.

Read on as Sandra helps us trace the roots of who we are and why do what we do, in our continuing series, The Cosmic Battle.  Enjoy! – Arthur

There is nothing more satisfying than to bite into a juicy red apple.  It is so delicious, so nourishing.  In the core of the apple are tiny brown seeds.  Each seed has the capability and coding to produce a tree that could grow over 30 feet in height and live and produce fruit for over 100 years.  All you need to do is plant the tiny seed in soil and give it plenty of water and sunshine.  Amazing.

The Bible has a lot to say about seeds.  In Matthew 13:24-30, Jesus says that there will be seeds of wheat and seeds of tare planted in the same field.  The planting of the single seeds is almost done mindlessly, just tossing the seeds onto the soil. Continue reading

Useless Organs?

No, this post isn’t about the ongoing debate about whether we still ought to be using organ music during Sunday morning worship to keep our traditions!

But it IS about honestly addressing the common argument offered either for the non-existence of an intelligent Designer, or that this Designer didn’t design us perfectly, using a faulty body design.  One of the pieces of evidence offered to support this assertion is the presence of “useless organs in our bodies that have no real function or purpose and that we could do without.”

Here’s a post from our friends at AIG with a link to an article written by Dr. Elizabeth Mitchell, who fairly and factually addresses these charges.  Keep reading, and while you do, ENJOY!  Enjoy how smart and caring God is to fashion you so precisely, carefully … and lovingly.  And enjoy the fact that you can rejoice with the psalmist, who declared, “I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.  Wonderful are you works, and my soul knows it very well”!

As famed NASA scientist, Robert Jastrow, commented in his book, God and the Astronomers, “For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the power of reason, the story ends like a bad dream. He has scaled the mountain of ignorance; he is about to
conquer the highest peak; as he pulls himself over the final rock, he is greeted
by a band of theologians who have been sitting there for centuries.”  Amen.

Is Your Appendix Useless?

“Many evolutionists have said the appendix has no real function. In reality, however, the appendix not only produces many chemicals that control biological systems in the human embryo, it also continues to fill a number of helpful roles in the development of the immune system in the early decades of life.

By exposing white blood cells to antigens in the local environment of the digestive tract, those cells are prepared for their important jobs of antibody production.

Thanks to modern research revealing the appendix’s important functions in the immune system, most doctors no longer routinely remove healthy ones, despite the persistent evolutionary belief that it would be “simpler to get rid of it.”

Learn the usefulness of many other parts of the human body that people have dismissed as evolutionary leftovers.”

To Know Me is to Love Me!

To know me is to love me.  How true that statement is.  It is when friends take the time, spend the energy, apply their focus, use their mind space to consider us personally and find out who we are, how we’re put together, how we think and feel, what we like and dislike, what we’re fearful of, etc. that we actually feel loved.  For that is an investment of their lives into ours.  And that’s love.  THE love chapter in the Bible, 1 Corinthians 13, concludes by the statement that in heaven, where ultimate love will be experienced and shared, that we will know fully … just as we have been fully known.

This Friday, TD will celebrate Valentine’s Day by getting to know each other better.  Make sure you – wear RED or PINK – to celebrate the occasion!  See you there! – Arthur
